About Lisa

I adore the outdoors, exploring my city and nearby regions and satisfying my curiosity about the world around me. Sometimes I venture further afield, usually to the Iberian peninsula, where I immerse myself in the culture, the food, and the history of the ancient structures. I was especially excited to take a trip to Andalucia last Spring.

On my local ventures, I stroll through woods and forests, eyes drawn to the subtle details, textures, and hidden micro-worlds that our hurried lives often miss. These serene realms, untouched by the hustle and stress of our daily grind, bring me peace and remind me of the magic that dwells in nature’s small corners amidst urban sprawl.

When not lost in time in my local forests, I am often walking the streets of my city, capturing the stark beauty of concrete and glass. My photographs from these wanderings reveal nature’s persistence in reclaiming its place in our industrial world, pushing through the cracks and crevices of our human creations, relentlessly attempting to draw us back into its embrace.

I host workshops across the US, focusing on helping other photography enthusiasts to hone their technical skills in natural settings. These trips focus mainly on nature and macro photography while hiking in National Parks.

I offer freelance and commission-based services in architectural and environmental portraiture photography. I’m capture stills, video, and aerial shots to help tell stories of people, places, and history.

An Architectural Salvage Photo Shoot

I am fascinated with history and old things that crumble and decay and return to the earth. This video shares the kinds of things that intrigue me when I’m shooting architecture — line, form, shape, pattern, texture, and most importantly, story.

Location: Governor’s Salvage Yard in Mechanicsville, Virginia, USA.
